Board of Directors

A+J Patient Advocacy is overseen by an experienced and diverse Board of Directors. Directors use their professional knowledge and connections to further our work, and ensure all legal, financial, and social obligations are met. Each Director serves a two-year term, attends quarterly virtual meetings, and follows an advocacy code of ethics.

Joel CoX

Senior Solutions Specialist, Healthcare Information Technology

Mr. Cox is a graduate of the U.S. Navy School of Health Sciences, where he traveled the world as a medical corpsman. After an honorable discharge, he used his medical experience to build a career in corporate healthcare, focusing on information technology and operations. A native of North Carolina, Joel is a grill master and Carolina Tarheels fan. You can find him working in the yard, tinkering with his classic car in the garage, and spending time with family.

Sara Cox

Director of Growth Accounts

Ms. Cox studied at Wake Technical College in Business Administration, Management, and Operations. Her early career was focused on private medical practice functionality, from patient interactions through financial services. For the last 11 years, she has supported larger healthcare industry clients with personnel and technology optimizations. Sara lives in North Carolina and enjoys home decorating, running half marathons, family time, and black coffee.

Director, Sustainability Services

Ms. Hache graduated from Université de Sherbrooke in Québec with a bachelors in Business and masters in Environmental Studies. She is a Certified Internal Auditor and works with clients who wish to optimize their sustainability practice, both environmentally and financially. Marie is trilingual (English, French, Spanish) and lives with her husband and two children outside Las Vegas, NV. She enjoys cultivating her desert landscape, good wine, and traveling.

james lee

Director, Commercial Legal

Mr. Lee holds a Bachelors of Fine Art from New York University and Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University, where he was the Editor of Journal for Business, Entrepreneurship and the Law. James is bilingual (Korean, English) and specializes in commercial law, advising several prominent U.S.-based corporations. When not working, he enjoys adventures with his family, weight lifting, and great food. James lives in Southern Nevada with his wife and son.

St. Ignatius of Loyola School

Ms. Schurrer holds a degree in Journalism from Ohio University and a graduate certificate in Communications from University of Toledo. She has 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector, focusing on communications, fundraising, and volunteer management. Liz lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband and two children, one of whom has chronic illness. She is a relationship builder by nature and a true ice cream connoisseur.
